CFAR

I want to share with you a great joy. When I studied your literature on "True Jesus" and about Trinity one JW (baptized last year) came to know the Lord. Thank you for your help!

God blessed us with a team of seven evangelists. These people are pastoral assistants who work in the church and reach out with the Gospel to those who are far from the church. Very often they encounter members of cults (such as Jehovah’s Witnesses) or with people who are already indoctrinated. I am the leader of this team and I am responsible for training of these people; we feel a great need for CFAR materials and the arguments and facts they contain.

Using your materials we accomplish many things (we have some testimonies about it): sometimes cultists leave their victims and depart forever, or we are able to lead also the cultists to understanding of the truth. Now we have six ex-JWs in the church…. Many people also are no longer attracted by [Kenneth] Copeland’s fables. Yet the remaining harvest is still great.

When I received your letter I became very glad, for the kind of work you do is very dear to my heart. When I was 20 I went through a period of deep searching for the meaning of life. I got in touch with many false religions. My hungry heart met Jesus, and since then He lives in my heart and is my Lord and Savior. But when I first believed I got into a small Christian sect which put its main emphasis on supernatural revelation authority which was “higher” than the Bible’s. These voices told us to make corrections in the Bible, and then new scriptures were written down for us from their dictation. Finally these voices led us to renounce Christ. To fill the spiritual vacuum we began to use occult practices. Only God’s mercy returned me to walk the Christian way.

I’ve been a member of the church for two and a half years. All this time I’ve never been interested in issues of different sects and cults — until now, as Jehovah’s Witnesses come to the same theater where we conduct our church services. I can’t talk to them because I don’t know their “weapons” — that is, I don’t really know what they teach and believe. In our city (population 70,000) there are 18 varieties of churches. I learned about CFAR from one of the pastors. I’d like to ask how I can subscribe to Vestnik. Do you have any more publications?…I await your answer.

Ukraine is filled with false teachings which are foreign to the sound teaching of the Gospel. Many leaders of Protestant Churches gladly receive this “new” teaching. Churches are places of amusements…The pastor teaches positive confession, prosperity, and total health… When the pastor raises his hand many fall down. Why? What kind of teaching is it? What kind of spirit? Nothing like what we can see in the Apostles’ ministry! Recently I was shocked by the pastor’s words: “Take more air in your lungs and then breathe out all your iniquities!” The people obeyed. Where did Apostles practice that? <...> Who is Sunday Adeladja? His name is on many people’s lips. The books of Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, Yonggi Cho are very popular <…> What to do? Where is solution? Please send us literature about this teaching.

I have distributed some of your articles and booklets, and I am going to continue to do it further. I see that we have a big need in such literature. In my village and in our area the JWs’ teaching is spreading very widely.

I am serving my prison term, and the Lord has His church here. I have been walking with the Lord for four years, and all this time I have been trying to learn more about God and His word. Our church consists of about 50 members. We asked you some time ago to help us clarify things about the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ teaching. God sent us sound teaching indeed through you in the light of the Scriptures. These questions do not bother the church anymore because [now we have] complete understanding. Yet the devil chose other tactics, and currently our church is filled with disputes which the devil is using to divide the children of God. Brothers and sisters, please help us to clarify these issues: […] Who are Copeland and Hagin — God’s teachers or false teachers? […]

Dear workers of the Center, I am the Pastor of a church in one of villages in western Ukraine. Just yesterday I learned of your Center and of your work by reading Vestnik. I was very interested in the articles on Jehovah’s Witnesses in Vestnik #14, and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. It’s especially necessary today when we face these false missionaries, and many people ask me about JWs after encounters with them. Some of them recognized the teachings of the JWs as false, while others are trapped by these false nets of the evil one, and it takes knowledge of the truth to set them free.
Kryk P., Volin region

In the past I wrote you and received your answer with articles on JWs….The literature is well used, and one of the JWs even left his way of deception and turned to follow Jesus Christ.

We read Behind the Watchtower Curtain and decided to turn to you for help. We think that Jehovah’s Witnesses are sincere in their desire to follow God and serve Him. Through encounters with them we see that they are very miserable people who fanatically believe not God, but the [so-called] “faithful servant” in Brooklyn. While dealing with JWs we lack reliable information about them as well as how to treat them. We study their literature and have meetings with them, but we lack experience. If you have literature and advice concerning JWs we would be glad to learn more about them and how to lead them to our Lord Jesus Christ.
With love in Christ,

I would like to have very important and needful spiritual literature and to subscribe to your periodical. Our town is small, and false Witnesses of Jehovah like locusts are eating away the souls of man with their magazines and visitations. Thanks be to God, your publication opens eyes.

“Russellites,” or so-called “Jehovah’s Witnesses,” are extremely active here in western Ukraine. We try to counter [their efforts] by warning people, but we lack the necessary literature — in particular, we need tracts that can explain the essence of this false doctrine in a clear and concise way.…I talk to many Russellites, since it is easy to meet them in crowded places. I ask you to help us with proper literature for mass distribution. I would be happy to cooperate with you. Are there any representatives for your mission in our region? I firmly believe that God is with us and that, as Jesus has given us a victory in fighting godlessness, by the power of God we will also be able to resist heresies, too.

You yourselves must know that each year more and more new sects emerge in the world, both in Russia and in Ukraine and other republics. And to fight cults — not cultists, because many of them are but victims trapped by those who are truly the apostles of the devil — is a goal of any true Christian. And you, brothers and sisters, are truly doing a good work for the benefit of many.… Materials distributed by CFAR clearly show where the truth is and where the lie is. Thank you. Some of your materials are being copied (without changes or additions) and freely distributed among interested people — especially among members of the Seventh-day Adventist and Jehovah's Witness movements, which are many here. Some of our residents also correspond with the Word-Faith (Belarus), Children of God (Poland), and LDS (Donetsk) missions. May God open the eyes of such people!

We need your help very much, so don’t say no to us! We want to [use] your literature so we can understand where the truth is. We are so tired from all these false movements which are causing lots of bad influence and attacking our city….May God bless you and multiply your work a hundredfold. Don’t leave us alone!

It was not easy for me to read the articles you sent, but your labor was not in vain. I read, I thought, I analyzed, and I decided to break away from the Children of God. I also critically analyzed Kenneth Copeland’s teachings, and your information about the Local Church helped me not to make another mistake. But what should I do now...?
