Miranda claims that "The spirit that is in me is the same spirit that was in Jesus of Nazareth." His website says of him, "You are the only God and dwell among us." Among other heretical teachings, the group denies the Trinity, rejects baptism and the Lord’s supper, denies the existence of the Devil and hell, and only accepts the 14 epistles of Paul as the inerrant Word of God (considering the four canonical Gospels and remaining New Testament epistles as corrupted). Children born to members of the group are said to be a "super race." Miranda’s organization is said to be "The Government of God on Earth."


Miranda’s blasphemous claims are calculated to provoke the anger of Christians, especially in Latin America, and have earned him notoriety in the press. His followers have organized noisy protest demonstrations outside of Christian churches and events. Most recently Miranda and his representatives have claimed that on June 30, 2012 he and his followers will be "transformed," but "All those that are not believers are going to be destroyed."
